I’m a multimedia artist and educator working with arts, education, and justice organizations.

Nathaniel (Nate) Mullen, is an artist and educator based in Detroit, Michigan, working primarily as a facilitator, coach, and consultant for arts, education, and social justice organizations.
His work as a facilitator and coach focuses on centering relationships in space that use curiosity and the body as a starting place for inquiry. It is best exemplified by People In Education’s Rida Institute, a year-long training that supports educators to work towards developing value-aligned learning spaces and lives. Nate also coaches leaders and teams in program development, organizational culture, and strategy.
Nate has worked with a variety of partners. Including the James and Grace Lee Boggs Center to Nurture Community Leadership, Mozilla, Black Star Film Festival, Detroit Justice Center, Allied Media Projects, The David P Weikart Center, and Detroit Disability Justice. He currently serves as the Special Advisor to People In Education, an arts and education project committed to humanizing schooling.
