Monica Pesswani

Monica Pesswani graduated from Harvard Kennedy School in 2021 with a Mid-Career Master’s in Public Administration and as a recipient of the Fulbright and Aga Khan Development Network scholarship. Monica’s dream is to end educational inequity.

Monica is an engineer turned liberal arts major. Bringing experience across the domains of technology, manufacturing, and education, she co-founded The Apprentice Project (TAP) – India’s first nonprofit working to end educational inequity through 21st-century skills-based curricula. Her work in 28 schools, with 3800 students, has resulted in 32% increased attendance. To reach 120M students from low-income communities, she aims to integrate TAP into the nationwide curriculum through systems-level change.

She was a Young India Fellow, Anant Aspen Fellow, Cheng Fellow, and awardee of the ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the year’ by the Government of India. Her mission is to bring holistic education to every classroom in developing countries across the globe.
