Jeph Acheampong
Driven to create economic opportunities through education and technology for the underserved.
Jeph Acheampong, a social entrepreneur with a heart for change, is pursuing his Master’s in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He founded Blossom Academy, a non-profit organization in West Africa that provides data skills training to underserved communities, empowering them to enter the evolving job market and establish sustainable livelihoods. Blossom Academy has had a significant impact on hundreds of unemployed and underemployed youths across West Africa.
Jeph believes that every person deserves to put food on the table and inspire the next generation to live up to their greatest potential. Ultimately, this belief led him to the founding team of Esusu Financial, a fintech unicorn company leveraging data solutions to empower tenants to build credit and improve property performance. He also worked as a Data Solutions Consultant at Experian, helping companies develop meaningful customer interactions by leveraging their data and actionable insights. To draw him closer to his mission, Jeph served as a Princeton in Africa Fellow, where he helped early-stage companies unlock growth by understanding customers’ needs and behaviors through mobile surveys deployed across Kenyan communities.
Blossom Academy and Jeph have been recognized for their organizational success and outstanding social impact with the prestigious Expo 2020 Dubai Global Innovator Award and received grants from the Livelihood Impact Fund, the African Visionary Fund, and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. Among other media acclaim, Jeph and Blossom Academy have been profiled in CNN’s “What’s The Big Idea”, the United Nations Decent Jobs For Youth, and the Nasdaq Tower in Times Square New York. He graduated from New York University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and pursued the competitive Acumen Fellowship.
As a Cheng Fellow, Jeph plans to further his mission to create economic opportunities through education and technology for underserved communities.
