Hasani Hayden received his degree from Harvard College in 2019 with a concentration in Economics. Passionate about both urban development and economic equity, Hasani aspires to close racial economic disparities through developing and revitalizing predominantly low-income minority communities in the United States. As a Cheng Fellow, he analyzed issues surrounding residential segregation, gentrification, and urban development and develop a proposal to transform these communities to provide better social welfare to their constituents. In addition to his work as a Cheng Fellow, Hasani has served as President of the Black Student Association, and as a Coordinator for the Undergraduate Minority Recruitment Program at the College.
Passionate about economic justice and equity neighborhood revitalization, Hasani will begin his career at Hines as a Development Analyst. Additionally, he will work to help share funding opportunities sponsored by the government for DC public school teachers seeking to purchase homes in the District. In the long-term, Hasani aspires to launch his own real estate development firm focused on inclusive housing and sustainable practices.
