Claudia Cabral

“I am a changemaker at heart and am inspired by the many good troublemakers in my life.”

As the Program Coordinator at SICI, Claudia Cabral is responsible for the delivery and execution of SICI’s educational programs, including the New World Social Innovation Fellows Program, Beck Visiting Social Innovator Program, and other instructional activities.

Prior to her work at SICI, Claudia served as the University Engagement Coordinator at the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative (ALI), an interdisciplinary social impact fellowship for senior executives and leaders. She identified and built connections with faculty, centers, and students across campus, helping ALI Fellows tap into Harvard and MIT’s many resources to maximize their social impact. Through her initiative, she led the CRM System Renovation Project from its beginning to completion, moving their main database to a more concise, reliable, and user-friendly platform for knowledge sharing among staff and ALI Fellows. This saved the department over $40,000 on annual database management costs, which was a 90% decrease on technology spending overall.

Previously, Claudia was the Interim Executive Director of the Pre-College Research Institute (PCRi), a student-run nonprofit that provides research methodology education and mentorship to high school students from underrepresented groups in academia. She recruited and onboarded over 15 new Directors and Associate Directors to expand the program’s reach. She facilitated communication between all committees and teams and ensured organizational efficiency through their logistical software maintenance. Before she had this role, she was Co-Director of the Social Sciences at PCRi. She led lecture designs, educational committee meeting agendas, and training for the assistant directors and mentors.

Claudia is a proud Azorean, first-generation college graduate, and eldest to three younger sisters. She was a competitive ballroom dancer and now enjoys grooving to the many different types of partner and social dances. In her personal life, you might find her painting, arts and crafting, cycling, or enjoying nature. Claudia is concurrently pursuing her Ed.M. in Human Development and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has a B.A. in Sociology from Harvard College (cum laude).
