Pallavi Khare is an MPP candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School, representing India as the Fulbright Nehru Masters Scholar. She is the Co-Founder of WeUnlearn – a social enterprise helping India’s youth build their self-efficacy and lead gender-equitable lives.
Prior to HKS, Pallavi worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for 5 years to improve womens’ agency in public health in India. Before that she was a consultant at Bain & Company. Pallavi has a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. She is a self-taught artist and has conducted multiple exhibitions of her artwork, mostly depicting strong female characters. She loves to cook Indian food and share her culinary expertise with family and friends.
As a Cheng Fellow, she and her team are building their flagship product – an AI based chatbot to help underserved adolescents overcome harmful gender norms across topics like bullying, body shaming, harassment, unhealthy relationships, sex education, gender stereotypes and online safety. Having faced gender abuse and discrimination during her adolescence, she wants to empower adolescents to overcome such issues from an early age and prevent decades of trauma.
