- Student AMAs
SICI Student AMAs (Ask Me Anything) aims to elevate the voice and learning students have to offer to each other and to the greater Harvard community. Students are able to contribute to SICI’s events and have a stake in our programming. It is a platform for exploration around topics that are important to them. - Social Innovation in Practice Series
SICI hosts public events intended to illuminate the diverse pathways to innovation and to highlight pressing topics related to social innovation. These events range from candid roundtable dialogues to panel conversations to interactive trainings led by Beck Visiting Social Innovators, practitioners, investors, and advisors.
CONNECT across our many communities – ranging from students, academics, and the Harvard ecosystem to the practitioners, supporters, and influencers outside of Harvard.
SICI mixers create opportunities for social innovators across Harvard to connect. Mixers draw students from different schools, disciplines, and sectors to engage in robust discussion about their perspectives on social innovation and public problem-solving in a casual setting.
- Student Conferences
SICI supports select student-led conferences across the Harvard community that focuses on social innovation. Through student conferences, SICI provides access to resources to advance social innovation efforts and conversations. Submit your request here.
- Studio Space
SICI’s Innovation Studio is available as a dedicated space at HKS for student social innovators to meet, work, organize, ideate, get feedback, and be in community. The Studio is located in Belfer 102. Students can drop-in any time during Open Studio to work on their social innovation activities and be in community with fellow student social innovators.
DEVELOP social innovators to become effective change-makers.
SICI workshops provide social innovators tactical skills and introduce theories and frameworks that are critical for them to be strategic and effective in achieving positive outcomes. Workshops are designed to follow SICI’s 3-Ps framework and are led by distinguished faculty, practitioners, and researchers.
- Map the System
Map the System is a competition that asks students and educators to think differently about social and environmental change. The competition challenges participants to thoroughly research a social or environmental issue in order to fully comprehend its underlying components. Participants are then expected to compellingly articulate their findings in a way that engages audiences and promotes understanding. Learn more now.

- New World Social Innovation Fellowship
The New World Social Innovation Fellowship is a rigorous co-curricular program for change-makers committed to addressing pressing social problems in new and creative ways. The Fellowship selects and supports students – known as Cheng Fellows – advancing progress on a social challenge through a project of their design. Learn more now.
